License FAQ

What is the price of MiddleVR ?

MiddleVR comes in multiple editions:

MiddleVR Free edition is .. free ! It allows you to use the Oculus Rift, Leap Motion, Kinect etc (see table above) as long as your project is non commercial.

– The price for the other editions is currently not public. Please contact us (don’t worry, MiddleVR is affordable for universities and small companies).

– What is the difference between the Free edition and the 30 days trial ?

The 30 days trial gives you full access to all HMD / Pro / Academic functionalities.

The only limitation is that you will have the same watermark as the Free edition.

– I want to deploy my application on many computers / can I run my application on another computer ?

With MiddleVR Free, HMD and Academic, you don’t need any player license.

With MiddleVR Pro, you need one Pro license for each computer if you are using features specific to the Pro edition (clustering, active stereo, multi-GPU, more than 2 viewports).

We are working on other deployment options. Contact us for any inquiries!

– I want to deploy my commercial application only on “low-cost” VR systems. Is there a more affordable license?

MiddleVR HMD edition is the perfect solution for you!

– How many Unity Pro licenses do I need ?

Note that starting with Unity 5, you technically don’t need to use Unity Pro anymore! All MiddleVR features can now be used with Unity Personnal Edition!

You need to have a Unity Pro license in the following cases:

– creating an application that will be used for the Oculus Rift,

– creating an application that will be used in a cluster environment.

You don’t need a Unity license on cluster nodes.
